A casta Europeísta

 

Há um grupo de indivíduos que ganhou, ou tem a perceção que ganhou, com a integração europeia, este grupo é composto essencialmente por políticos, personalidades da comunicação social como directores de jornais, comentadores e, claro, a classe que os anteriores servem, a classe do Capital.

Embora a União Europeia nos tenha sido vendida como um projecto de progresso, prosperidade e paz é necessário dizer que a União Europeia não é um projecto de progresso, prosperidade e paz, é um projecto neoliberal, logo, de regressão, um projecto criado pelas e para as “elites” europeias.

Há quem admita a natureza regressiva da União Europeia e continue a defender que é possível a reformar ao ponto desta estrutura pan-europeia servir quem tem que servir, os povos. Não encontro qualquer indicação de que uma reforma da União Europeia esteja a caminho, antes pelo contrário, encontro sim evidências do entrincheiramento do Neoliberalismo na União Europeia.

O grupo de indivíduos que ganhou ou acha que ganhou com a União Europeia/ Euro não tem qualquer incentivo para mudar o status quo pois ele o serve. 

A maioria que caiu na armadilha do europeísmo neoliberal não o sustenta porque gosta dele mas porque a ideia do fim da União Europeia e Euro é ainda aterrorizante o suficiente o que a leva a tolerar o projecto europeísta, mesmo que isso esteja claramente a provocar o declínio social e económico. A minoria que ganhou com o europeísmo neoliberal tem claramente explorado o medo e ignorância da maioria da população para manter o actual estado de coisas.

A questão não é se, mas quando… até quando este arranjo regressivo neoliberal europeu vai durar? Espero que não dure por muito mais tempo.

The Europeanist caste

There is a group of individuals who have gained, or have the perception that they have gained, with European integration, this group is essentially composed of politicians, media personalities such as newspaper editors, pundits and, of course, the class that the previous ones serve, the capitalist class.

Although the European Union has been sold to us as a project of progress, prosperity and peace, it is necessary to say that the European Union is not a project of progress, prosperity and peace, it is a neoliberal project, therefore, of regression, a project created by and for the european “elites”.

There are those who admit the regressive nature of the European Union and continue to argue that it is possible to reform it to the point where this pan-european structure serves those who have to serve, the peoples. I do not find any indication that a reform of the European Union is underway, on the contrary, I do find evidence of the entrenchment of Neoliberalism in the European Union.

The group of individuals who have won or think they have won with the European Union/ Euro do not have any incentive to change the status quo that is useful to them.

The majority who have fallen into the trap of neoliberal europeanism do not support it because they like it but because the idea of the end of the European Union and the Euro is still terrifying enough that they tolerate the european project, even though it is clearly causing social and economical decline. The winners of the european neoliberal project clearly exploit the fear and ignorance of the majority of the population to maintain the current state of affairs.

The question is not if, but when… how long will this regressive european neoliberal arrangement last? I hope it does not last much longer.
